| Tell me. How did the purple tulip find its way between all the orange and yellow ones?
It's different, but it stands tall and beautiful. Actually it has much the same attributes as the others, except for color. I think we all know that none of these tulips enjoyed the chance to chose their color or the garden they were planted in. It's much like people who are gender variant. They didn't get a chance to choose their gender, nor did they get the chance to be planted in any special garden of people. In fact they ended up in a garden where all the other plants conform to a set standard. The purple tulip stands tall. Yet it doesn't fit. Will society demand it be removed or suppressed or cut down? Would you cut down a gender variant person, or would you nurture and help that person grow? Would you encourage others to accept their somewhat different, yet very similar, neighbor? |
